ALLERTON & HUNTS CROSS FUN DAY

Great News! Saturday 13th March 2010

The Councillors Community Initiative is funding 75 residents of the Allerton and Hunts Cross area to attend the OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES CENTRE on Saturday 13th March 2010 from 10am to 3pm (12-1pm break)

During the visit the residents will have fun and a challenge completing some great activities, i.e. Archery, Orienteering, nightline, aerial runway and many more…

You are welcome anytime during the day, morning or afternoon.  Young people must be above the age of eight to participate in the activities, younger ones can still enjoy themselves in the park – grown ups are also welcome to have a go.  This is very much a family event.

The success of the day will mean yearly fun days for all the surrounding wards.

To ensure that only Allerton and Hunts Cross residents will be attending we will be using a referral system, this means that you must provide MYCT with your details prior to your visit. If you are interested, please complete your details below on the referral form. If you have any problems please call us on 0151 428 9758

MYCT will only contact you if you have been selected.

This past week

29.01.10

We have welcomed back 3 schools who have been here in the past St Benedicts, Booker Avenue and Gateacre.  We surprised them all with a new activity that the staff and volunteers have been working on.  We have also had two school placements here from a local school learning new skills and joining in with the team and basically enjoying themselves but working very hard as well.

January is nearly over and we have had a very busy month not just with bookings but with the number of volunteers starting a training scheme.    February looks as if it will be even busier.  We are sending staff and volunteers on two National Governing Body Awards for First Aid and Archery so we won’t be short of any Archery Instructors.

Please note that if you are a group interested in making a booking please confirm your dates as soon as possible to save disappointment

A Happy New Year

We are now back in the swing of things after the unexpected longer break after the Christmas holidays.  The Centre is now fully open and is gearing up for another busy year.  First group of the New Year will be Booker Avenue.  Plenty of volunteers in continuing with the in-house training scheme and lots more volunteers starting shortly.

Here are some of the volunteers setting up camp and members of the public making use of the park during the cold spell.

We wish all our users a very happy New year we hope to see you all again soon.

This is it, the final group of the year.  Well done to Booker Avenue for never giving in and completing the course.  We look forward to seeing you again next year.

St Benedict’s

This is their last session of the year.  We have all had a wonderful time with this group, it has been a priviledge to work with them and to see all the improvements/achievements that they have made.  Well done.   They have supported this Charity for many years and we look forward to welcoming them back in January.
