A HAPPY BIRTHDAY today to MYCT’s founder Bill Whiteside who is celebrating his 80th birthday.
If you know Bill you will know that he does not celebrate the normal way, he is planning to raft from Liverpool Sailing Club across to New Brighton with some of his friends. The raft will be built today ready for the sail tomorrow. We will of course be putting some photo’s on the the big event. All past and present staff and volunteers are welcome to support Bill tomorrow at Liverpool Sailing Club, his sail should finish about 3.30.
Congratulations Bill from everyone involved with MYCT.

Raft is going well should be arriving at Liverpool Sailing Club 3.30 p.m. Bill has made it onto page 12 in the Liverpool Echo!!!!!!

Raft arrived at Liverpool Sailing Club safe and sound at 15.10 with the ATs (80’s) on board. Jolly time was had by all, perfect weather for it. Well done to all the volunteer helpers on the safety boats who have made it a great day out for Bill. The BBQ is on as I type.

Happy birthday to you ( sorry its late )
thanks for putting up with me at MYCT for 2 weeks haha
it meant alot and I learnt a lot I also found myself as a person
and it helped me to know what I want to do in the future.
I hope to come back after the Prince’s Trust ( if you’ll have me ) hint hint.
Oh and also a thanks to Anne for being very helpfull and the rest of the staff at myct for
putting their time in to help me learn new skills.

What a day we had!
I should plan things better . . . didn’t expect any sun in Liverpool in June; so didn’t take a cap, or sun cream – nothing! Andy loaned me his cap while he was cooling off in the Mersey.
It’s now 17th June and my face and head has finally toned down a little. I look like I’ve been on holiday to Egypt for a month.
A great idea and I enjoyed every minute . . . a great pity we had to leave just before the BBQ! More bad planning on our behalf.
When Bill Wootten and myself saw Charlie take his shorts off, I’m sure we both expected him to just top up the Mersey during a ‘loo’ break . . . not so! He just dived straight in!
The Whiteside’s must have an insane streak somewhere in their genes.
Here’s to Bill’s 90th! Maybe climb Kilimanjaro . . . cycle to John o’Groats . . . or do the Three Peaks again!

I was in the middle of typing my first message to you when it suddenly disappeared before I had a chance to finish it,( now that is modern technology for you !!) so you will probably get one and a half messages from “Down Under”
Just wanted to wish you a Very Happy 80th Birthday. What a wonderful way to celebrate your special day, floating down the River Mersey on that incredible raft of yours. I guess the icing on the cake was being serenaded by the maestro himself, William Wootten, What more could you have asked for !!!!!
